10:06 pm	The Terrible Crossover Fanfiction Idea Generator Via auctasinistra Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining The Bible and Incredible Hulk. The story should use living on a farm as a plot device! Generated by the Terrible Crossover Fanfiction Idea Generator Hmm. Actually... Dr. Bruce Banner is living in a farm in the Bible Belt after the events of The Incredible Hulk while working on getting better control over his mutation. He also occasionally meets his neighbors (from a farm couple of miles from his) and has meaningful talks about purpose, destiny and predestination with the aged grandmother of the family. Of course, she is not quite who she seems. Que the Holy Grail (as portrayed by Dan Brown), machinations of Opus Dei, visions and visitations by beings not quite Earthly... and Bruce Banner, both as Dr.Banner and Hulk, has his hands full. 12:26 pm	OTP I don't really understand the concept of OTP. Or, better said, I understand it but don't think it's a thing for me. Perhaps because my main fandom for most of my internet-stay has been Harry Potter - I have a deep love for Harry, but he can be paired with so many characters and I don't really care who the other half of the pairing is as long as there is enough Harry. I'm a slasher, though, so het pairings rarely make the cut. That said, there is one fandom where I have an OTP - and it's het. BtVS with Buffy&Spike. I do sometimes read fics where they are paired with other characters, but I really, truly prefer fics where they are together. Go figure. Current Mood: amused (Comment on this)

No letters to tie with a ribbon and hide away in the back of the lowest left drawer of your desk. No photographs to look at and place into that scrapbook with pink violets on the cover your friend gave you last Christmas. No things to sort through on an barely-dark afternoon of the late autumn while sitting on the double-bed you're sleeping in alone in the emptily echoing bedroom that was ours. No apartment to clean out and put on the "Available For Purchase" list in the local newspaper. Nothing. Those things are for others to do. I'll leave you memories, like of last Sunday when we were walking in the park because I wanted to and you came with me even though you really didn't have time - because of that big project you had to finish at work - and the sun was shining and I was laughing and chasing ducks and you were looking at me almost smiling like I haven't seen you doing in far too long time. 5:01 pm	Surprise! Or: "warnings - rambling ahead" You know the situation when you're in some fandom and search for fics with a certain pairing or a certain character? And you search and find, and read happily, and then go search and find more and... Well, so on and on? And then you notice that the character you thought was central for you to enjoy fics isn't actually the one you thought it was? It hit me with Lord of the Rings fanfiction today. I read LotR more than ten or so years ago and wasn't terribly impressed. Perhaps the translation was crap. Then I read it again after seeing the movies and still wasn't impressed. It's a good bet that it was because my English isn't up to the task, though (I read the books in English this time). Still, I can't help but be impressed by all the thought and planning and love that Tolkien clearly put into writing his masterpiece. (and yes, it is a masterpiece- and I really hope that one day I am mature enough to enjoy the Middle-Earth series as it should be enjoyed). But I have wandered rather far from my original point. So I liked the movies and went on the search for fanfics. Of course I found them (more than I could ever read, really). I narrowed my interest down to Legolas and every kind of slash pairings involving him. And from time to time I also read fics that featured Legolas in the background with some other pairing taking the lead. or simply genfics about Legolas...and other characters. And then I started to sort my LotR fanfics folder today (yes, I'm the kind who saves fanfics which I like - how can I otherwise be sure my favourites do not disappear from the net and me some day? It's not like I'm going to publish them, you know). Okay, so I sorted the fics and reread some parts of some fics - just to make sure I still liked them (might sound bizarre but tastes change, right?). And then I noticed a trend. It took me some time to understand, but really - it should have been obvious to me long ago. It's not Legolas who absolutely has to be in a LotR fic for me to enjoy it. It's Elrond. Just - human brain works in fun ways, doesn't it? Current Mood: silly (Comment on this)

They're not new, but I had a thought that since the computercrash year ago the only place I have those is FF.net. And should something happen to my account there, most of my fics are lost. They're not high literature but I'm kind of found of them. Understandably, I'm sure. 8:54 am	To my homeland Congratulations, Estonia, you're 90 now. Quite a much, isn't it? There was a time that it seemed it would never be possible to celebrate your jubilee freely. Like it was not possible to celebrate you becoming thirty, fourty, fifty, sixty... We did celebrate your seventieth, although it was not really accepted by the ruling bodies of ENSV or Moscow. We celebrated you eightieth with party to the world to see. And today we celebrate your ninetieth. Happy Birthday, Estonia. I'm grateful for having a country of my own to hold and love. 1:15 pm	Stardust I finally went to see Stardust yesterday. I've wanted to see it for a while now, but never had the time. Yesterday I took time, so to say. I liked the movie. It's a very simple and straightforward story that is, in my opinion, told very well. I can't really say if the actors played well or not (I'm not competent enough in acting to decide that), but nothing bothered me and brought me back to reality, so I think they played good enough for me to enjoy. And, of course, the characters! Tristan and Yvain are sweet and lovable, but, my God, the princes! And Michelle Pfeiffer as the Wicked Witch! And Robert De Niro as Captain Shakespeare! Especially Robert De Niro as Captain Shakespeare!!! Hmm... Yvain/ Tristan/ Shakespeare threesome? Or Shakespeare/ that first mate of his, don't think the name was ever said (goes by Skinny Pirate in the castlist, I think)? I'm hopeless, aren't I? Current Mood: cheerful (Comment on this)
